- The Business Controller, while reporting directly to the Country Finance Controller, is responsible all financial related issues to Customer Support (CS) operations in Japan. This person will work as the business partner of member of both Sales and CS management team to control business activities from financial, contractual and compliance aspects.

• Financial Planning and Analysis:
• Work as the business partner of the CS organizations by advising to their business strategy and contribute to make better deal structure for both business and financial benefit, which need to work closely with the Country CS Teams, Senior Sales Staff, HQ Business Units, Finance and Legal.
• Assist the CS organizations in establishing, reviewing and implementing specific negotiation strategies and tactics.
• Key financial objectives include maximizing revenues, increasing gross margins and improving cash flow.
• Financial Control:
• Oversee the review and monitoring of customer proposals and agreements to ensure ongoing compliance with US GAAP, Legal and Local Tax requirements.
• Ensure all deals are properly booked into USGAAP book (and statutory book), and Quarterly and Fiscal financial closing/results are concluded accordingly in timely manner.
• Interface and align between “front-office” operations (i.e. Account Managers, CS Managers, Sales/CS Control, Legal, Contracts) and supporting “back-office” functions (i.e. Sales/CS Accounting (SSC), Back-office accounting, and Corp. Financial Planning).
• Organize effective and efficient audit on operations and their results, and check their actual results both in revenue and spending if those are in line with the budgets.
• Performance Management:
• Drive Japan business toward value creation with clear definition of the key performance indicators. Support and monitor the performance of the operations along with those indicators, and make corrective actions and intervention to managers to continuously improve future performance.
• The person will need to work closely with other Finance functions and is responsible to provide supports toward other Finance Control roles (i.e. Sales Business Control, Country Control and etc.) in order to drive the corporate efficiency and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will be an over 10 years working experience in financial area with a demonstrated track record of providing strong financial and business leadership in a global company. This individual should also have a successful track record in developing and overseeing strong financial controls, planning, and analysis.
Key competencies required include:
Business Analysis, Planning and Reporting Skills – This role needs to provide excellent reporting to business partners and other stakeholders with good analysis. Also, he/she needs to make solid business planning with good alignment and balance within matrix global organization.
Financial Skills – This individual must have strong background and knowledge on finance, which include USGAAP, Statutory rule and local Tax policy. SAP experience is also preferred.
Exceptional Communications Skills – The candidate should be able to communicate to business partners, other stakeholders in HQ in the Netherlands and other related parties effectively.
Logical thinking – The candidate is expected to provide essential financial and business information to business partners and sometime need to be persuasive, thus he/she needs to be logical enough to create clear storyline and to hit clear decision points.
Leadership and Teamwork – The candidate needs to be natural leader but a good team player and should demonstrate the ability to build open working relationships characterized by mutual respect within the organization.
English Skill – Fluent communication in English
