The successful candidate will assist with local banking activities, GAAP accounting requirements, and tax compliance for the Japan business unit, including affiliates and subsidiaries.

A leading global provider of solar energy solutions is looking to hire a Financial Controller with a strong understanding of US and Japan GAAP.Responsibilities:
* Manage stakeholder relationships and communications for the US GAAP books and cash management activities
* Work with treasury, tax, accounting, and legal functions to prepare and manage all intercompany agreements
* Work closely with overseas accounts payable and customer service teams for timely payments and billings to customers
* Assist in the development and implementation of processes that are SOX compliant and lead efforts to build a scalable infrastructure for Japan accounting
* Work with IT and others on the finance and accounting team to implement system, reporting, and process improvements for Japan accounting
* Manage the annual cash flow forecast, including sources and uses of cash
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree; advanced degree in Finance preferred
* CPA or Japan Certified Tax Accountant (Zeirishi) qualification preferred
* 10+ years' experience in various finance functions including accounting, treasury, and/or tax; 3+ years' experience in similar role in a multinational company preferred
* Strong understanding of US GAAP, J GAAP, and local Japanese statutory tax rules & requirements
* Proficiency in MS Office applications and ERP systems
* Verbal and written proficiency in both English and Japanese
