- Outstanding opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join a distinguished law firm as Accountant. The ideal candidate will put their strong accounting skills to great use and manage the daily finance operation for Tokyo including accounting and reconciliations, month-end closing, and other related tasks.

Responsibilities:
* Handle the local accounting functions; compile and analyse financial information for journal entries; reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
* Oversee month-end and year-end closing
* Assist with internal controls; maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures, including SAR rules
* Responsible for tax returns; liaison with external advisors for partner and expatriate staff tax filing
* Prepare and coordinate the annual budget and re-forecasting process
Requirements:
* A seasoned professional with a professional qualification and a minimum of 5 years' accounting experience (ideal)
* Legal industry and professional services experience advantageous
* Knowledge of local accounting, reporting, and tax requirements
* Experience working for a global firm preferred
* Proficiency in Excel; English fluency
* Proven ability to maintain strong internal client relationships
