Responsibilities:
Manage relationships with journalists from international publications, both in Japan and overseas
Work closely with senior executives and business leaders to proactively communicate the firm's strategies and capabilities
Collaborate with the Japan and global media teams on proactive and reactive communication
Manage issues to limit negative media coverage; facilitate the exchange of information between HQ and international teams
Translate/develop external communication materials such as press releases and media briefing documents
Requirements:
A native English speaker with excellent Japanese skills; strong communication skills (Japanese and English) and writing skills (mainly English)
Experience working in an in-house communications function or PR agency; also open to candidates with experience translating Japanese to English who are interested in media relations and finance
Committed to interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, business leaders, research analysts, and overseas communication teams
A self-starter who contributes positively to team-based efforts and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Open-minded, eager to learn
