Newly created in-house legal position based in Tokyo. Responsible for all legal matters, including commercial contracts, corporate advisory work, and ad hoc legal support for APAC-wide commercial operations. Solo role, career projection to become Head of Legal for Japan.

Advising and supporting the Japan business and supporting functions
Working closely with commercial operations and Contracts Administration team to review, draft and negotiate terms and conditions on the sale of products and services
Enabling the business to be compliant with applicable laws, corporate policies and procedures
Advising on employee relations matters, preparing and reviewing legal documentation as required
Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating routine transactional documents such as real estate leases, non-disclosure agreements, and master services agreements
Developing, reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements
Identifying and implementing opportunities to increase operational efficiencies within the Legal and Contracts Administration organization
Assisting with the monitoring and assessment of external counsel on assigned projects where applicable, to ensure consistent delivery of prompt, cost effective and quality legal services

- 必須

Qualified attorney (bengoshi or foreign jurisdiction, preferably US/UK)
5+ years of post-admission experience (both in-house and top-tier law firm)
Fluent Japanese, business English (TOEIC 750+)
Ability to identify key issues and consistently apply a high standard of integrity, professionalism and legal knowledge
Track record in providing practical, commercially focused and value-added legal advice
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
Able to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt and iterate seamlessly in a fast-paced and multi-matrixed environment
