A global pharmaceutical company is looking for an External Communications Manager. e.Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise the external communications team to ensure strong performance and collaboration
* Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives
* Build and execute the external communications strategy and annual operational plan
* Lead strategic media relations targeting Japanese and global media
* Plan and deliver public relations initiatives leveraging pharmaceutical industry expertise
* Prepare, review, and deliver press releases, Q&As, and other external communication materials
* Coordinate closely with PR agencies to maximise strategic media exposure
* Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency of external messaging
* Strengthen team expertise through pharma-focused knowledge sharing and training
* Lead crisis communication planning and response to protect corporate reputation
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or above in business, communications, journalism, or a related field
* More than 10 years of experience in communications or public relations
* Experience in multinational pharmaceutical or healthcare companies or PR agencies within the same industry
* Proven experience in media relations, crisis communications, digital and social media communications, and content development
* Experience managing teams and developing talent through coaching and mentoring
* Native level Japanese; fluent level English
