Responsible for the management of the finance and accounting function in the TokyoEnsuring accurate financial data is available by set deadlines at office, regional and firm-wide levels (e.g., monthly reporting).
Responsible for preparing annual budget and mid-year projections. This will involve working closely with other offices and meeting tight deadlines.
Ensuring that the business planning and budgeting process is proactively used to drive profitability.
Ensuring that the business planning and budgeting process is proactively used to drive profitability.
Continually assessing actual vs. budget progress, and overseeing the financial projections throughout the financial year.
Ensuring proper and tiemly working capital management. This includes overseeing time recording, billing, collections, treasury management and other receivables and payables - and also driving ever-better billing and collection initiatives.
Ensuring that all local statutory and tax requirements are complied with.

At least 15 years of accounting and finance experience including 5 years at managerial level
Previous experience in a law firm or professional service firm is essential
Strong background in both financial and management accounting and reporting
Experienced with cross border transactions
Participated in and/or led financial accounting automation efforts
Good understanding of Japanese taxes and accounting practices
