In this role you will assist with the maintenance of accounting records of corporate entities in Japan, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules, financial statements, regulatory reports, and variance analysis.

A leading global investment management firm is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their Corporate Accounting team in Tokyo.Responsibilities:
* Help ensure the corporate entities' records are in compliance with local accounting and regulatory requirements, internal control requirements, and internal finance group's policies and procedures
* Support month-end closing for legal entities in Japan to ensure accounting transactions are completely and accurately recorded
* Support general departmental activities to ensure payments and billing transactions are properly authorized and executed in line with the group policies
* Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reports, regulatory returns, and tax filings
* Support the preparation and/or collation of regional data for internal reporting and other analytics purposes
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting
* 2+ years' financial accounting experience, preferably with a foreign-affiliated multinational corporation
* Experience in the asset management industry is a plus
* Knowledge of ERP financial accounting systems is a plus
* Verbal and written proficiency in both English and Japanese
