POSITION DETAIL
Our Systems team focuses on testing the camera and parking software on the Japanese market. We provide input regarding market specific needs and regulations and make sure the system is adapted for the Japanese market and ready for release.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The tasks of the Driver Assistance Testing and Development Engineer include:
・ Set-up of test vehicles and measurement
・ Testing of the camera and parkman software, evaluation, and reporting according the global development specifications
・ Responsibility for the release recommendation of driver assistance systems for the Japanese market (based on testing experience and data analysis)
・ Defect reporting, follow-up and tracking of improvement of functions
・ Regular communication with international test centers, RD headquarters, and MB Japan
・ Constant improvement of the testing process
・ Representation of MB Driver Assistance Development on the Japanese market (incl. towards authorities)

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
・ Japanese ‐ negotiation level ( JLPT N1) required
・ English ‐ negotiation level (TOEIC 750 or above, CEFR C1 level) required
・ German language skill desired
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
・ Knowledge of radar and camera based driver assistance systems, as well as autonomous driving systems
・ Knowledge in computer vision and pattern recognition
・ Good understanding of basic technologies for automotive applications (chassis, powertrain, electric & electronic, autonomous drive technology
EXPERIENCE
・ At least 3 years’ experience as development engineer in driver assistance system
・ Experience as technology analyst in Japan for technology monitoring, research cooperation with Japanese universities, and benchmarking Japanese industries in various technology fields is a plus
